Samotlorneftegaz JSC Tests the Field Development Management Simulator

The Samotlorneftegaz JSC Training Center hosted a testing session of the PetroCup interactive simulator, designed to develop practical skills in managing oil and gas field development. Over the course of two days, the company's specialists worked with a digital asset model, making engineering, technological, and economic decisions in conditions close to real-world production challenges.

A key feature of the simulator is its integrated approach to field development management. Participants worked not only within their areas of expertise but also made decisions collaboratively, assessing their impact on the geological, technological, and economic aspects of the project. This helped specialists better understand the tasks of related departments and see the connection between operational decisions and the overall project outcome.

The testing demonstrated the simulator's practical value for specialist training and developing cross-functional collaboration. Participants also noted that working with the simulator helps provide a deeper understanding of decision-making processes at different stages of field development.

During the session, specialists analyzed geological data and well testing results, selected optimal measures to enhance oil recovery, and adjusted the development strategy as new inputs became available. This format allowed participants to experience firsthand the importance of teamwork and the ability to quickly adapt decisions throughout the development process.
