PetroCup Tournament for SPE-KSA Young Professional Committee | 2024
Nafta College is proud to announce that on July 15-17 SPE - KSA Young Professional Committee, together with local partner Daaken, successfully hosted the PetroCup Well & Reservoir Management Tournament in Khobar, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia!
The tournament gathered talented young professionals from Oil & Gas industry. Participants were divided into nine multidisciplinary teams and challenged to navigate three synthetic years. They studied the petroleum asset using conventional well and reservoir surveillance techniques, aiming to understand geological complexities, the distribution and energy of remaining hydrocarbon reserves, well integrity and productivity issues, and waterflood performance.
Teams drilled additional oil-producing and water-injecting wells, performed various workovers on existing wells to improve vertical flow profiles, and managed production targets. All activities were conducted in a fully automated digital twin environment. Performance was evaluated based on the accumulated Net Present Value of free cash flow over a three-year timeframe.
Nafta College extends its sincere gratitude to all participants for their enthusiasm, creativity, and professionalism. A special thank you to SPE KSA YP (Mohammed Fuad Aljaafari and Khaled W. Abuzaid) and Daaken (Samer Al Sabbagh) for their exceptional professionalism and dedication.
A special thanks to Nafta College Lecturer: Vladimir Krichevsky, Moderator: Amir Ayupov, Manager: Dr. Irina Aslanyan and the remote PetroCup Backend Team for their excellent work in maintaining such a complex event.
At Nafta College, we firmly believe that PetroCup Synthetic Petroleum Assets, the PetroCup Digital Twin simulator, and PetroCup AI-assisted Debriefing technology will revolutionize the way the petroleum industry gains and maintains practical experience.
Looking forward to future collaborations and continued success together!
